About the Dance Connection
The vision of The Dance Connection of Idaho is to offer an introduction to the art form of dance without the stifling effects of a rigid approach. Each class level is consistent with the educational and developmental level of the child. Children learn proper studio etiquette and behavior, while never losing sight of the joy and love dance brings.
Cyndi Wilcox, the director of the program, has been offering classes exclusively to childcare centers and preschools for over 25 years. Along with her experienced staff, she has developed a curriculum that adapts to the child care setting.
Preschool Age Children
Preschool age children are introduced to dance through creative movement. Each week they will enjoy learning to listen and follow movement instructions, to skip, leap, gallop, and dance joyfully. They will learn many fundamental dance skills in ballet, tap, jazz, as well as proper dance terminology. All with an emphasis on positive self-esteem and most importantly, FUN!
School Age Children
Our school-age children’s class consists of dance basics including proper dance terminology, ballet, and jazz skills. The class will give the students a well-rounded base and a chance to explore several dance forms. The improved coordination and attention of the older child allows for a more concentrated class and introduction to proper dance technique.
